I  Elias Okutoyi always thank God for my friends, family, and Stara. The impact Stara has had in this society is big. However, the community doesn’t comprehend this. What we do is different from what they expect of us. I have realized that the conflict up to now is the give me fish mentality. The community is around small tokens and daily stuff frequently. Stara doesn’t dwell on this. They are preparing a future that is unique from the old chip. Imagine learners in various schools in Kenya through Stara. Most of them are from dire backgrounds that would otherwise never step into high school. Now there is hope. A bright hope. Stara is silently transforming a community perceived to be returned, hopeless and confused from pray to hunters. Majestic hunters. Hunters that would rule the jungle with great might and confidence. Great confidence. I foresee them. A people as swift as eagles, Strong as a lion, and fast as a cheater in resolving community challenges. It is such a wise thought. A dream of women. Women who dared to start something out of nothing. Though many abandoned them. The three never stopped dreaming. Jamila Josephine Mumo, Mariam Abdu and Farida Kamene. The women whose vision and dream were beyond ordinary men and women of their time. Perfect examples of resilience. Through whacky and mire they’ve endured. Mbarikiwe Sana. I can’t ignore the wonderful input of the staff. I would say one of the most underrated staff around. That has never ceased to amaze the same community. They are always given those considered the worst in the community. The end product is GREAT. Unmatched output around. May you never give up. Just like your directors never gave up continue with a selfless push. It is a delicate job indeed. You are the only hope for these children. Fight for them. Shower them with pure love. Never bow to temptation. Only God shall reward you. If not in this life, your reward is well kept somewhere beyond the skies. Where no dust, rust, and mite abound. Bravo team Stara. I wish you the happiest and most illuminated New Year 2024. Our Great God shall locate us abundantly in Jesus’ name. 2024 is a year of great blessings.
