The school provides two meals to every child attending the school Monday to Friday. Lunch is served on Saturday for those who are able to come. Food is prepared throughout the year.
- Breakfast (finger millet porridge which contains milk and sugar)
- Lunch (beans, maize and vegetables popularly known as githeri in Kenya alternating with ugali with beans and vegetables)
- Meals are served with seasonal fruits such as mangoes, watermelon, avocado, oranges, bananas.

Food Preparation
- Stara provides a plate and cup to each child which they take and bring back every day and is used to serve their food
- The food is prepared in the school kitchen which uses firewood
- The food is prepared by community members some of whom are parents of children attending the school
- We get water from the Nairobi City council and local vendors
Additional nutritional support
- We carry out de-worming every 3 months for every child and provision of Vitamin A and health assessment in collaboration with the health facility.
- 2 Greenhouses where we grow tomatoes, capscum, kale (sukuma wiki) and spinach that supplements the food served at the school.
